About our documents
Well-Ordered Church provides draft governance and financial-oversight documents and general educational information for churches anywhere in the world. Our goal is for every document to stand on God's word first and to be applicable to any and all churches. Laws differ by state, province, and country and change over time, and we don't have experience in every jurisdiction. Before final adoption, we recommend having each document reviewed by a local attorney and CPA or accountant licensed in your church's own jurisdiction (state, province, or country); churches outside the US should have them adapt the documents to local law. Well-Ordered Church is not a law firm, accounting firm, or registered investment adviser, and Byron Adams is not an attorney or accountant. Our documents are not legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice, and using them does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, or advisory relationship. Your church's governing documents and the terms of any designated or restricted fund control. Your church's leaders are responsible for reviewing, adapting, and adopting any document. Our documents are assembled automatically from template wording we reviewed in advance, filled in with the answers your church gives in our questionnaire. No AI writes or changes your church's documents when you order, and no person reviews each individual document before delivery, so the documents are not reviewed for your church's specific situation or local law. Your church is responsible for the accuracy of its answers and for checking every filled-in detail. Well-Ordered Church does not give pastoral counsel or rule on doctrine; we follow your church's own constitution and confession, and questions of doctrine or practice belong to your church's elders, pastors, or session. Your questionnaire answers are used only to prepare your church's documents, are never used to train AI models, and are kept confidential (see our Privacy Policy). Sponsorships are purchases of a Policy Pack for another church from a for-profit business, not a charity, and are not tax-deductible. Well-Ordered Church is a personal venture of Byron Adams and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. Scripture references link to the ESV® at esv.org; no Scripture text is reproduced.
